We searched Whalebuy's 1688 channel in Chinese for each item type, looked at the first thirty results, and threw out anything whose title, attribute form or photo carried a famous brand name or a "same style as" claim. We also dropped listings already used on other Whalebuy catalogues we could check, so the shelves here do not repeat what you may have seen elsewhere.
From what was left we opened the full listing in English and in Chinese and read three things: the price tiers, the minimum order, and the option menus. That last step is where most of the card notes come from. At least seven of the thirty listings use a colour menu to sell something that is not a colour: a lining, a hem shape, a children's version, a wholesale quantity, a different glove, a camisole and a different umbrella frame.
Prices are the seller's yuan figure on that date. Whalebuy shows a converted price next to it; the conversion moves daily and is covered on the costs page. Several listings set a minimum of two pieces, flagged on the card, because a single item cannot be ordered from them.
A reading is our judgement, not the seller's. Sellers tick season boxes loosely: the wicking tee on the muggy shelf is tagged for winter, spring and autumn as well as all seasons, and the bucket hat is tagged for all four. We show the seller's tags on every card next to our reading so you can see where we disagree.
