Chinese listings for hot-weather clothing lean on a handful of words. 冰丝, "ice silk", is not silk: it is a marketing name for smooth synthetic yarns, usually nylon or polyester blended with spandex, that feel cool for the first few minutes. 速干 means quick-dry. 凉感 means cool-feel, usually a finished surface rather than a different fibre. 莫代尔, modal, is a soft cellulose fibre that wicks well but stretches when wet.
The useful field is the composition line, not the title. Our joggers are titled ice silk and list 80 per cent nylon with 20 per cent spandex. The wicking tee lists Sorona in one field and "50 per cent polyester, 50 per cent other" in another, which tells you the seller is not sure either. For muggy weather, high polyester or nylon with a mesh or waffle knit will dry fastest; a high spandex share will cling.
Whalebuy's three free photos per item are front, back and a third angle. For muggy-shelf items, use them to check what heat will expose: see-through fabric on light colours (ask for a photo held against a hand), loose stitching at the armpits, and elastic at waistbands and cuffs. Extra close-ups are CNY 1 apiece, and asking for them at order time saves a round of messages later.
For the steel chain, ask for a close-up of the clasp; plating wears there first. For the fan, ask for a photo of the battery label and the cooling plate. Fans are also the one muggy item that changes how the parcel ships, as below.
Summer clothing is light and soft, so a muggy parcel usually lands on the cheapest lines. Our 0.8 kg summer box drew USD 18.37 to the UK and USD 30.63 to the US on October 24, 2026. The traps are elsewhere. The handheld fan carries a lithium battery of 1,200 or 2,000 mAh, and battery goods are only accepted on some lines. Ask before you add it to a box of tees, or ship it separately if your preferred line refuses it.
Second, humidity in transit. Whalebuy lists a moisture barrier bag among its packing services. The service list shows a CNY 5 charge in one field and "6 yuan per kilogram, up to 6 yuan" in its description, so check the figure at checkout. It is worth it for leather or anything going into a humid port in summer.
